Lily Pond
This beautiful lily pond is located at Roper Mountain Science Center in Greenville. The area to the left is a butterfly garden. Once you cross the bridge and follow the path you will come to a "settlement" of old homes, barns, and out-buildings. There is a vegetable and flower garden, chickens, horse, and cow--a great place for local schools to visit and learn about nature and history.

hi. i was googling and found this picture. it brought me much joy. my college roomate and dear friend angela lykes died in greenville several years ago and last year we had a memorial for her at the butterfly garden at roper mountain butterfly garden. we purchased a beautiful butterfly bench to remember her. did you see it when you went to the butterfly garden.
ReplyDeleteIt has actually been a couple years since I have been to Roper Mountain, but next time I go I will be sure to look for the bench. I lost a very dear friend a couple months ago so I can sympathize with your loss. I can't imagine a more beautiful place for a memorial service than that garden.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing your kind comments!
